CAT HOUSES

Wooden cat houses for outdoor and barn cats

The same T1-11 and Advantex build as our dog houses, scaled down for cats and made in Tignall, Georgia.

Chapter 01

What an outdoor cat actually needs

A barn cat or a porch cat isn't asking for much. It wants a box small enough to warm with its own body, dry underneath, and shut against the draft. Too much room is a mistake. A cat curls up and keeps itself warm in a snug space, while a big open box just lets the wind walk through.

That's why a good outdoor cat house sits up off the ground, wears a real roof, and has a door that doesn't face the weather head on. Georgia winters run wet and the summer afternoons run hot, and thin boxes don't last through either one.

The Large Cat House, built like the big ones

We took our proven, durable dog house designs and made them kitty-friendly. The Large Cat House is 15 1/2 inches deep, 11 inches wide and 14 3/4 inches tall, with a 10 inch door opening. The siding is 5/8 inch T1-11, and the floor is 3/4 inch Advantex with a 50-year manufacturer warranty.

Pressure-treated legs, 3 1/2 inches tall, hold it off the ground. The roof deck is 7/16 inch OSB under shingles that carry a 20-year warranty, and an awning over an offset door keeps the rain from blowing straight in. The full list is on the spec sheet below, and the suggested retail is $109.95.

Chapter 03

Where to find one, and asking for bigger

Cat houses are sold through our 37 dealer locations across Georgia and the Carolinas, the same feed stores and hardware stores that carry the dog houses. A few of them are named on the dealers page, from Ladd's Farm Supply in Cartersville to McDuffie Feed & Seed in Thomson.

If the Large doesn't fit your barn, or you keep a whole crew of cats and want something roomier, ask Barry about something bigger. The shop line in Tignall is (706) 372-6294. Custom orders go direct from the shop, and direct orders are paid by PayPal or Zelle.

The Large Cat House carries a suggested retail of $109.95 and is sold through our dealers across Georgia and the Carolinas.
